This map shows census tracts in metro Atlanta with high job-to-worker ratios (ratios of 1.9 to 40) using 2014 Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics data from the U.S. Census Bureau. This ratio helps to understand the job/worker balance in an area by dividing the number of jobs in a census tract by the number of workers in the same tract. These job-rich areas, mainly in town centers, have more jobs than working residents, so they can be considered job “destinations” that import their labor from outside of their census tract. High ratios can be expected from those census tracts that primarily include employment centers and do not contain large residential areas.
