It’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2021, and we’re celebrating with a look at the shares of Native American residents across the state. The interactive map below shows the percent of residents with Native American ancestry at the county level. The color ramp uses natural data breaks in order to help provide a more accurate picture of our shares. This format allows us to see that the vast majority of counties across the state have less than 0.1 percent Native American residents. We can also see that Charlton and Echols counties are outliers even though just 1.8 and 2.2 of their residents, respectively, are Native American.
