This week the AJC released an article exploring the “digital divide” in metro Atlanta. This division – among those with access to the internet and other digital technologies and those with limited or no access – is potentially stifling the economic prosperity of those residents who lack access by leaving them at a disadvantage when seeking jobs in an increasingly technical work climate. This week’s Friday Factday explores one aspect of the digital divide – internet access – among different segments of the region’s population.  As the infographic below illustrates, minority residents, senior residents, residents with with less education, or those with lower incomes, have less access to broadband internet services.
