Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and while it would be nice to be able to share with you a definitive map of where love is and is not in the metro region, data on such things, as you’d imagine, is impossible to obtain.  What about data on “proxies” for love, like for example, married couples or sales of chocolate?  Unfortunately, even these measures miss the mark – leaving out unmarried couples, same-sex couples, and people who don’t like chocolate or like to buy chocolate for the ones they love.  With this in mind, we thought the most inclusive way to set the stage for this Valentine’s Day was to share a map not of love, but of loneliness…well, not of loneliness per se, just of those living alone.
