The deadline to register to vote in the 2018 General Election in Georgia is Tuesday, October 9, 2018.  With this deadline on the horizon, we thought it a good time to take a closer look at who votes in the Atlanta metro region. Using data on voter registration and voter turnout from the last 4 general elections, we created a dashboard that allows you to explore voter turnout by sex and race/ethnicity at both the regional and county scale.

Click on a tab at the top of the dashboard to view each of the breakdowns.  Once on a tab, select a geography and category and and then hover over the chart to find out what percentage of people based on your selection were registered to vote and how many of those people actually voted in each election.

Don’t forget: You can easily register to vote and check your voter registration status online at the Georgia Secretary of State website! Still have questions about voting? Check out empowerline’s Georgia Voting 101 page for information about how to vote, voting rights, and transportation to polls!
