We hope everyone’s back-to-school madness is, well, a little less mad than it was a few weeks ago. Usually right around when a new school year starts, the Georgia Department of Education publishes the results of the last school year’s Milestones tests. Some highlights can be found here. But to help you navigate through all the details of these data, we put them into a Google Data Studio visualization that allows you to filter on:

  • Grade (we only put in 3rd, 5th and 8th, as those are usually the key grades)
  • Assessment (English Language Arts (ELA) and Math)
  • School District
  • School

Note that there is also a second sheet to this visualization (click the arrow at the bottom left) that shows District-wide results. The tool is interactive, so you can click on any column header to sort– in case (for instance) you wanted to see which school had the highest proficiency rate for 3rd grade reading (spoiler: It’s a school in Muscogee County)!

So take a look below, and happy data hunting!  …And if you are still curious about Milestones testing, specifically about primary pandemic-era challenges, check out another recent post on 33N.
