Infographic - Metro Atlanta Speaks survey results

It’s that time of the year again! For this month’s snapshot, we wanted to take a closer look at the newly released metro Atlanta Speaks Survey results. For this annual survey, more than 5,000 individuals across 13 counties were asked their perceptions on a variety of topics about life in the  Atlanta region.

While there are many interesting findings, here are a few highlights:

  • The Number One issue? Transportation! A plurality of respondents feel that “Transportation” is the biggest issue (26.7%), followed by Crime at 17.2%. Interestingly, the “Economy” fell to third as, overall, the economy has improved in recent years, thus isn’t as top of mind lately.
  • Well, How Do Fix Transportation? Expanding Public Transit! A plurality of respondents (44%) believe “Expanding Public Transit” is the best solution to transportation issues, while 31% feel the solution is “Improving Roads and Highways”.
  • Are Things Going To Get Better? When asked if “Living Conditions in metro Atlanta will be Better, Worse, or About the Same in 3-4 Years,” 48% said “About the Same” while 35% feel it will improve. Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, and Fulton have the most respondents who feel it will improve.
