DO NOT VIEW THE ECLIPSE WITHOUT SPECIAL “ECLIPSE GLASSES.”  CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

A full solar eclipse will be visible across the continental United States today, with the best viewing in Georgia in the northeastern counties of Fannin, Union, Towns, White, Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart, and Elbert.  In these counties the Moon will completely cover the Sun for nearly two minutes from 2:37 to 2:39 pm.  If you are unable to make it to these counties, you can still get a good view of the eclipse throughout most of the state of Georgia, although with only between 90 and 99% coverage of the Sun.  The map below shows the path of totality and times when the sun will be fully obscured (in grey) as well as the areas in which at least 90% of the sun will be covered (in purple).
