Through the Atlanta Roadside Emissions Exposure Study (AREES), Atlanta Regional Commission can evaluate air pollution at the neighborhood level. These maps show particulate matter (PM) concentrations coming from the transportation system. PM levels are higher near interstates and major roadways. These measurements and an understanding of the extent of pollution can help inform transportation planning and the siting of community assets such as schools. Check back soon for May’s Regional Snapshot for more information on air quality in the region.

Check out the interactive map here! For more information on AREES, visit the Atlanta Regional Commission website.
